I can’t tell you how many times I’ve made this easy vegan chocolate ganache. Here’s a secret…sometimes I literally just make this and eat it and you bet I lick that bowl every time. It’s a great easy recipe to have up your sleeve when you need it.
Perfect for decorating all sorts of confections and a great replacement for hot fudge on sundaes.
Vegan Chocolate Ganache: Ingredients
All you need for this ganache is vegan dark chocolate chips and a plant based milk. My favorite chocolate for baking is Enjoy Life.
In my opinion, the best plant based milk to use is light coconut milk. It gives the creamiest outcome. I’ve also tried almond milk and oat milk with success.

Vegan Chocolate Ganache: Directions
In a microwave safe bowl, add chocolate chips and milk. Microwave 20-30 seconds. Mix thoroughly until it forms a glossy chocolate ganache. If there are still some chunks of chocolate microwave another 20 seconds.
If you want a thinner ganache to drip down the sides of cake, add a little more milk to get the right consistency.
Important! Do NOT overheat in the microwave. The chocolate may seize up if you do.
Another method to do this, would be to melt it in a double boiler. You’ll be less likely to overheat your ganache this way. I just go for the quick and lazy way in the microwave.
An easy vegan chocolate ganache is the way to go if you need a topping to decorate your cakes, cookies, donuts, or even fill your trifle with. As I mentioned, I often use it as a vegan replacement for hot fudge on ice cream sundaes. It’s so delicious!

Chocolate Ganache (Vegan!)
- ½ Cup Chocolate Chips
- ¼ Cup Light Coconut Milk
- Put chocolate chips and coconut milk in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds.
- Mix for about a minute until the chocolate and milk blend together and it looks thick and glossy.
- Use immediately or refrigerate for up to a week. Reheat in the microwave for about 30 seconds.
