I’ll start off by saying it took an awful long time for me to actually be interested in keeping my skin looking good. After much persistence from my lovely mama, I started trying some skin care products she raved about and now I have an ingrained routine that I never miss a single day of.
I have to give a huge shout out to my mom for all her skin care wisdom. She loves skin care as much as I love baking, so she pointed me in the right direction for taking proper care of my skin.

Using Essential Oils
The majority of the skin care products I use are essential oil based. I love essential oils. They have so many uses and benefits! The two main skin care lines I use are Living Libations and Rainwater Farm. Both companies are essential oil based for all their products. Check out some of the descriptions of the products I have linked to see what amazing benefits these products have for your skin.
Morning Skin Care: Face Wash
I start off every morning by washing and moisturizing my face. My face wash is Living Libations: Best Skin Ever. I am currently using the Rose Best Skin Ever. It has a really nice smell! This product is more of an oil than a foamy face wash, but it works so well. I have naturally oily skin, and washing with this oil does not make me oilier. It cleanses and hydrates and my face loves it!
All I have to do is get the tip of a face wash cloth and wet it in the sink with some warm water. Then I put one pump of the oil onto the cloth and rub the wash cloth all over my face. I put some pressure as I rub so the cloth exfoliates my skin as the Best Skin Ever does its work.
I’ve also tried the Frankincense Best Skin Ever which has a nice slightly sweet/citrus smell. Living Libations says this one is good for acne prone skin, or dry skin.

Morning Skin Care: Moisturize
I finish off my morning skin care with either my Illuminating Face Serum from Rainwater Farm or my Simply Shea Face Cream made by MadeOn Skincare Products.
I love the face serum because it’s light, lasts forever, smells amazing and makes my skin glow. I literally only use 2 drops of it in the morning, that’s all I need. I’ll use this the majority of the time.
The face cream is just shea butter with a bit of rosehip oil. I usually use this on the days I feel like I need some extra hydration or if it’s cold and I like that layer of cream on my skin.
I also like to spritz some Living Libations: Rose Glow Complexion Mist onto my face. I feel like it gives me that little extra I need sometimes.
Morning Skin Care: Dry Brushing
My body always gets some tender-love-and-care in the mornings as well. I always start with dry brushing my entire body head to toe. My mom told me first, but I also learned from Nadine Artemis (owner of Living Libations) that dry brushing is great for your circulation system, lymphatic system, and cellulite reduction. If you’re skin is super sensitive like mine is and doesn’t do well with shaving, dry brushing will definitely help you as well. My skin has been a lot better with the razor after I started a regular dry brushing routine.
In conjunction with dry brushing, I will usually put on the lovely smelling Cellulite Formula on the prone parts of my body, particularly my legs.
Morning Skin Care: Body Moisturizing
After a shower, I love to put a good moisturizer on my body as well. I have two options for this too because I like to mix it up.
First, I’ll use tallow hard lotion bars that my mom makes which are perfect for winter or when I need something heavier for dry skin.
My other option is the Silken Skin Conditioner by Rainwater Farm. Again smells amazing, lasts forever and really does leave my skin silky smooth.

Every Once in a While: Face Mask
I also love a good mask once in a while. For a long time I had used this amazing mask made from mud from the Dead Sea by a local company, but they unfortunately don’t make it anymore and I haven’t found a good replacement.
So instead of Dead Sea masks, I’ve been making my own: another trick my mom taught me. I like to make a strawberry oatmeal mask. It really helps after a day spent in the sun or when you just need some extra hydration. I mix together oatmeal, honey, yogurt, and strawberries. All these ingredients are great for your skin.
Oatmeal, honey, yogurt, and trawberries all have different benefits and they are ingredients most people have on hand at home. Perfect for a quick mask before an event or a fun girls night!
My face mask is printable down below if you want to print out the recipe.

Every Once in a While: Oatmeal Bath Soak
Oatmeal is a amazing moisturizer. It’s good for irritated or dry skin and can help relieve itchiness. What I do sometimes if my skin feels super dry, is I take a knee high stocking (those cheap ones you can buy at the drug store), and fill it with some rolled oats and knot it. Then I bring it into the bath with me and soak it in the water for a couple minutes and then rub my entire body with it, especially the dry areas. I do it on my face too. It’s amazing what benefits simple pantry staples can have on your skin!
I hope I gave you a few tips for your own routine and enjoy the strawberry face mask!
