What is a Chocolate Fondue Dessert Board?
A chocolate fondue dessert board is basically a fancy way of dressing up chocolate fondue with a ton of food to dip into the chocolate.
Charcuterie boards, or another term is food boards, are all the rage right now. I think it’s just a funner way to eat food! That’s why it’s great for every occaision because food boards just bring the eating experience to the next level.
Pictured above is the array of food boards from my food board themed cookbook club.
How do you make a Chocolate Fondue Board?
This chocolate fondue board can be as simple or as complicated as you want it to be. It depends on how many fondues you want and how many goodies you have to dip.
Food boards are very flexible, so if you are missing one or two things or you have a couple different foods from what I have pictured, it’s no big deal!
All you have to do is gather everything you want on the board, make the fondue and then assemble it.

Your Food Board and Dietary Restrictions
Keep reading to see the large list of suggested foods to have with your food board. This list has something for everyone on it. If you have someone in your party who cannot have gluten, go for the gluten free oreos and pretzels. For vegans, you have to make sure the marshmallows are labeled vegan and one of your chocolate fondues should be dairy free.

My Homemade Options
For the homemade options, I made my chocolate chip cookies. I also made classic rice krispies treats and used dairy free butter.
The last thing is the popcorn balls. All I did was make the popcorn and stuck a few pieces together with melted chocolate. I let the chocolate harden and presto, homemade popcorn balls.

Chocolate Fondue Ingredients
On my board, I have two different fondues. I made a vegan dark chocolate fondue and a milk chocolate fondue. Here are the ingredients for each.
Vegan Dark Chocolate Fondue:
Milk Chocolate Fondue:
- Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate Chips
- Coconut Milk (Or Heavy Cream)
- Butter (Dairy Free or Regular)
- Frontier Vanilla Extract
For the milk chocolate fondue, I did use coconut milk and dairy free butter because that is what I had on hand. You are more than welcomet to switch it out to heavy cream and dairy butter if you so choose.
Chocolate Fondue Directions
It’s so easy to make fondue, you’ll have it ready in minutes. So if you want it fresh be sure to wait to make as close as you can to when it will be eaten.
All you have to do is heat up the coconut milk or heavy cream either in a saucepan on the stove or in the microwave if you want it heated faster. I microwaved for about 1 minute.
Put the chocolate chips in a large bowl and pour the coconut milk or cream over it. Mix it until it’s smooth. The heat from the milk will melt the chocolate chips. Mix in butter and vanilla. Done!

Chocolate Fondue Container
As you can see I just used 8oz ramekins to hold my fondue. I heated it up right before we ate it. The fondue will get a little thicker as it cools.
You can also use a real fondue set. If I had planned ahead of time more, I might have bought a small one with a tea light underneath so it was constantly heated, but the ramekins worked just fine too.
Little sticks to poke into the smaller fruits helps as well instead of using your fingers.
